Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
I have three important updates for everyone who calls PCC home. Read on!
Hello, Meritt Lohr Sawyer!
On October 1, Meritt Lohr Sawyer joined the PCC staff team as Interim Executive Pastor! Meritt is no stranger to PCC (or the Covenant, for that matter). She served as Executive Director of the Paul Carlson Partnership, one of our denomination’s (and PCC’s) major mission endeavors in the Democratic Republic of Congo, transforming it into an efficient and effective ministry to the DRC. Since leaving PCP, Meritt has been consulting, serving on boards (including the boards of Fuller Seminary and Christianity Today), and calling PCC home! Meritt has invested over 35 years in managing non-profit ministry (such as John Stott Ministries) and has felt a strong calling on her life for that work. Meritt will be a wonderful addition to the PCC team this year and is already jumping into our staff culture and getting brought up to speed.
If you are a Redwood City resident, you are well aware that this November election is locally charged with great interest given our city’s rapid growth and budget challenges. This coming Tuesday, October 9, starting at 7pm in our Farm Hill Worship Center, PCC will be host to the only debate amongst all seven candidates. All seven City Council candidates will answer community-generated questions before a live audience. Can’t make it in person? No worries, the event will be live streamed on Facebook (like VOCA to make sure you see the stream). Please pray for this event and please come, be informed, mingle with our city, and pray in person!
Town Hall Meeting on Sunday October 21, 12:30-1:30pm
This fall at PCC, as we continue to move toward our 2025 Vision of seeing 10% of the homes in our city being Christ-centered, we find ourselves in the midst of shift. With roles being eliminated, staff being called in and out, and distinct gatherings being established (with more to come), we know this raises emotions, questions, and wonderings along the way. We want to be a community that processes together and operates in our values (like practicing healthy relationships) as we navigate transition. To help us do that together, all are invited to a Town Hall meeting on Sunday October 21 at 12:30pm in the Farm Hill Worship Center. Please share your questions ahead of time at the link below. The questions will be compiled into an FAQ that are available for all to access online by October 21. We’ll have time at the Town Hall to hear about the transition season and how it relates with our vision, ask/answer questions, and pray.

Thanks for praying boldly for PCC! It matters, Church! This Sunday, Brian Rhen will be jumping into our Dear Church series, looking at the Church of Ephesus. Join us at one of our four gatherings.
I love being your pastor!
