This week our guest Gmail writers are Tony Gapastione, PCC’s Worship & Creative Arts Pastor, and Carlos DeVitis, PCC’s Multisite Director & Equipping Pastor; both teaching pastors at our gatherings this Sunday, November 5.
Carlos DeVitis and I are speaking this Sunday at our gatherings, continuing our series on Questions Jesus Asked! How are these questions challenging you? (Who do you say I am? Do you want to be healed? Do you see this woman? What are you arguing about?) This week, we’ll look a question that causes us to evaluate ourselves and assess our trust in the power of God.
Can you imagine Jesus telling you to feed 5,000 people when you have no food and are on your way to take a nap?! It’s just like Jesus to offer us an opportunity to serve him and grow our faith when it’s completely inconvenient. Take a read of the story in Mark 6:34-44.
Jesus asked his disciples “How many loaves do you have?” What would you have said? What would you have done?
This is an actual conversation Carlos and I started on text. As you can see, our message preparation style is a bit unconventional!
Since I included my friend Gilbert, I decided to share it with all of you!
PCC, we are looking forward to being with you on Sunday.
Just imagine: if Jesus could feed 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish offered by His sometimes faithless, fearful, and foolish disciples … what could He do with our lives when we offer him what we have?! The most important part is that He has already given us everything we need. He simply invites us to offer it back to Him, since He gave it to us already. Just as Jesus did amazing things with bread and fish, we’re trusting for Him to do amazing things as we seek $200,000 to impact vulnerable children through our God’s Heart for the World offering this Sunday!
By the way, enjoy that extra hour of sleep this weekend! Daylight savings ends this Sunday, so remember to turn your clocks back one hour!
