“Ask, and the gift is yours. Seek, and you’ll discover. Knock, and the door will be opened for you.” Matthew 7:7 (TPT)
Good Afternoon, PCC!
Can I encourage us today in regards to prayer?
When I forget how eager God is to help me, it’s easy to start depending on myself and to stop asking God for His intervention.
Perhaps you only ask God for the “big stuff” and not the “small stuff.” It’s time for a perspective shift: Everything is small to God. None of our requests are too big in God’s eyes! He has every hair on our heads numbered (that’s no big deal in my case but some of you have a lot of hair!), and He knows how many fell out in the sink this morning.
We’re not bothering God when we come to Him with our requests. That’s why the New Testament tells us more than 20 times to ask for whatever we need in prayer. 20 times!
A mentor told me once: “If it’s big enough to worry about, it’s big enough to pray about. Worry won’t solve it, but prayer will.”
Will you pray for the next four days?
- Tomorrow is the National Day of Prayer in America. This is a day for the people of God to intercede for our communities. Please join us Thursday night from 7-8pm at the Flagpole at City Hall (on the corner of Middlefield and Jefferson) to pray for Redwood City. This is a non-political, multi-church gathering of God’s people praying for His Kingdom to come to Redwood City.
- On Saturday we have our Covenant Kids Congo Global 6K and it’s not too late to sign up! Show up between 8-8:30am and sign up on that day. I promise it will be a great event for a great cause!
- On Sunday, we will jump into our Made For Mondays series looking at Monday Morning Theology. If you need some motivation on why go to work … this Sunday is for you!
It’s going to be an epic weekend at PCC, but we need to pray that Jesus is at the center of it all. I hope to see you at any or all of these events!
I love being your pastor!
