epic (Middle School)

epic (Middle School)

epic is for 6th-8th graders. We meet weekly to focus on discipling students to know Jesus better and with the hope that students can learn in community together.

We are partnering with WyldLife Redwood City and San Carlos for Thursday night midweek events and Small Groups. The focus at these events is to create an environment that any student, no matter their knowledge of Christianity, can come and learn more about about the Gospel. We love to encourage our regular attending students to invite friends and help to make disciples of everyone, everywhere.

Current Series

IN THE SHADOWS: A 4-Week series from the Old Testament on Doubting God

Where there is shadow, there is light, so the shadows don’t have to scare us. As we grow and experience more life, we might find the shadows of doubt or questions creeping towards us. Rather than run from the shadows, we can look to God to cast some light on the situation. In this 4-week series from the Old and New Testaments, we’ll explore how we can step into the light whenever we doubt God’s presence. We’ll talk about how when we doubt God can be trusted, we can find the light and choose to remember what God has already done. We’ll learn how when Jesus’ followers disappoint us, we can step up to be what we don’t see. We’ll explore what can happen when we’ve lost hope and how we can ask God to surprise us. And we’ll see how even when the shadows make it feel like God’s not listening, we don’t stop praying.

Meet Middle School Director

Austin Hochstetler

I grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo as a missionary kid and came back to the US to attend college at Cal Poly (SLO).

I’ve attended PCC since 2017 and initially got involved by volunteering with PCC Middle and High School students. I married my wonderful wife Elisa in July 2024, and soon after made the big career change to serve as the new epic Director.
