Kids MW Host
What we do:
The Midweek Host is responsible for communicating the lesson to kids. This role functions in collaboration with the Family Ministry Director. The Host communicates in an age and developmentally retainable manner, in order to engage kids—using visuals, audience interactions, and tone.
Why we do it:
Having a Midweek Host that sets the desired tone for the program creates a safe space with welcoming energy, which is vital to engaging kids.
We support kids’ enjoyment of the environment during programs. We know that providing a safe, structured, fun and friendly environment will help foster engagement and growth for our kids. We love knowing our PCC kids are developing relationships with each other and with Jesus.
This role is integral to sharing the Word of God with kids, in accordance with our PCC Priorities—specifically The Family Table.
Aligning with our G4 Strategy, this role helps the kids in Children’s Ministry to Grow in Christ-likeness through their participation in Children’s Ministry programs and activities. This contribution is a godly gift to our PCC children and their families, because the Midweek Host Gives of their talents and abilities.

How we do it:
- Come prepared. The Midweek Host reads the supporting verses ahead of time and prays over how to apply them in the program.
- Make it personal: The Midweek Host actively engages with the script material when sharing the lesson.
- Set the authority in the space, so boundaries are upheld and reinforced when necessary.
- Engage the kids by encouraging interaction.
We win when:
- We serve as a team, supporting other volunteers when they lead
- Keep good communication within the team.
- We take a step back at times to allow the growth of another leader.
- Kids are valued and engaged.
- Friendships are forged with teammates.
- Teammates pray for and encourage each other.
