Kids Large Group Leader
What we do:
The Leader is in charge of the flow of the program:
- keeping track of time and the schedule
- calling out and implementing transitions
- welcoming children and guardians
- leading the overall lesson and collaborating with other volunteers in the program
Why we do it:
We know that providing a safe, structured, fun and friendly environment will help foster engagement and growth for our kids. We love knowing our PCC kids are developing relationships with each other and with Jesus.
This role is integral to sharing the Word of God with kids, in accordance with our PCC Priorities—specifically The Family Table.
Aligning with our G4 Strategy, this role helps the kids in Children’s Ministry to Grow in Christ-likeness through their participation in Children’s Ministry programs. This contribution is a godly gift to our PCC children and their families, because the Sunday Program Lead Gives of their talents and abilities.

- You are organized and are willing to prepare for your scheduled time.
- You recognize the importance of tracking time during activities/events.
- You are not afraid of maintaining boundaries, given your authority as a leader.
- You like the camaraderie of being on a team and the interplay of working as a team.
How we do it:
The Large Group Leader sets the tone and brings the fun, providing a safe space with welcoming energy that will engage kids.
The Leader is the authority in the space—should boundaries need to be repeated or reinforced.
All on our team come prepared. The Large Group Leader reads the supporting verses ahead of time and prays over how to apply them in the program.
As a team, we engage with the materials ourselves, so we can help make for a personal experience with the kids. A successful Large Group Leader does more than just read off the script when sharing the lesson.
We encourage engagement from the kids by encouraging interaction.
We win when:
- We serve as a team, supporting other volunteers when they lead and keeping good communication with them.
- We take a step back at times to allow the growth of another leader.
- Kids are valued and engaged.
- Friendships are forged with teammates.
- Teammates pray for and encourage each other.
- Teammates share ideas and experiences.
