What Is God Like?

Kids imagining God as robes and sandals is cute. But ask adults about God, and silence often follows. Why? While 9 in 10 Americans believe in God, there’s little agreement on who He is or what He’s like. Yet understanding God is critical—it shapes our lives and our eternity.

The problem? God is infinite, and we risk creating a false version of Him from our imagination, which the Bible calls idolatry. Following a made-up god has serious consequences, both now and forever.

Thankfully, God hasn’t left us guessing. He revealed Himself through Jesus, who made 7 bold “I AM” statements in the Gospel of John. Over the next 7 weeks, we’ll explore these declarations to discover who God truly is and what He’s like.
