Radiant, The Power of Our Light

...Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. —Galatians 5:25b-27

Two thousand years ago, a gathering of people in a middle-eastern city began a movement that would circle the globe and leave its mark on individuals and cultures on every continent. This movement would eventually become known as The Church. Yes, a movement—and it’s still moving today, despite the dark times we are living in.

What comes to mind or what do you feel when you hear the word ‘church’? Chances are it is a far cry from what the first church people thought or experienced. They didn’t think about a building, rows, pews, robes, hymnals, bands, or liturgy. They had none of these.

And yet, despite having no social or political power, no buildings, nothing that most Christians think of when we think of church, they were a countercultural community that grew in it’s influence. Why?  Because in the dark context of the first century Roman Empire, they were radiant!

This 3-week series will examine how Jesus transforms individuals, calls them to devote themselves to a community—called the Church. Jesus shows us to what we are to devote ourselves. Radiant is an explanation of the priorities for our next season, so we can live into our PCC mission. Receive the invitation to drive deep roots into PCC, learn how you can make a difference, and realize the transformative power contained within us at PCC.

Series Dates: September 13-27
